Anthropic filed documents on Monday to list its shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market, aiming for a capital raise of up to $100 billion. The San Francisco company plans to use the ticker symbol "ANT" when it debuts on the stock exchange next month. This offering would surpass the $86 billion raised by SpaceX during its June listing.

The filing arrives weeks after CEO Dario Amodei published an essay arguing for slower development of advanced AI models. The document marks the first time the maker of the Claude chatbot has made shares available to the public. It also positions Anthropic to go public before its main rival, OpenAI.

The company's financials show rapid revenue growth alongside expanding losses. Anthropic reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first half of 2026. This figure is a sharp increase from the $13 billion loss recorded in the same period last year.

Private investors valued the firm at $965 billion earlier this year. Reports indicate that the public offering could push that valuation to $1.5 trillion or possibly $2 trillion. At the lower estimate, Anthropic would rank among the most valuable public companies globally, sitting alongside Tesla. The final valuation and offering price have not yet been determined.

The sale of shares could substantially increase the personal wealth of Dario Amodei and his sister, co-founder Daniela Amodei, by billions of dollars. The five-year-old startup would become one of the world's most valuable corporations regardless of the final price point.

The regulatory filing spans 335 pages and details the company's path toward a Wall Street listing. The IPO provides Anthropic with resources to accelerate its expansion. The company faces a competitive landscape as it prepares to join the public market.
